With the advice of the Marquette County Sheriff department, we implemented these changes to our security procedures during our weekend Masses:
· Once Mass begins, all doors to the church facility will be locked. An usher will be posted at the Montello Street entrance to allow access to the church for any late comers. A sign at the parking lot entrance will direct people to the Montello St entrance once Mass begins.
· People will not be allowed to celebrate Mass from the rear vestibule; they will be asked to take a seat in the church. Those with children are most welcome to use the vestibule to quiet a child and then return to the church.
· All of the rooms of the parish center with the exception of the restrooms will be locked during Mass to prevent someone from hiding out somewhere in the building.
We implement these procedures to help ensure everyone’s safety at Mass. We seek to be “proactive” instead of “reactive.” Anyone with questions or comments is asked to speak to Dennis Klapper or Steve Zoulek.
